Broadband providers to consider when moving into your new home
Here at MegaCleaning, we know how stressful moving home is. We help hundreds of customers to prepare their old and new homes for moving with premium cleaning services, but we know this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to preparing for the move. What about switching broadband providers? The internet is central to modern living, so it has to be reliable and well-priced, but it can be time-consuming to really take the time to compare different options. To help with this mammoth task, here is our list of broadband providers to consider when moving into your new home.
Virgin Media
Virgin Media features on this list because of its variety of options. If you are looking for the fastest WI-FI possible, they currently offer the fastest in the UK with their Gig1 package that offers download speeds of a huge 1,140 Mbps, but this is not a service that is widely available. It may be worth checking if your new home is viable if you want the fastest internet around.
Having said this, they also have other fast packages that are more widely available such as their Ultimate Ooomph Bundle at 630 Mbps download speed for £79 a month, or their slightly slower but more affordable M500 bundle at 516 Mbps for £43 a month.
However, if you’re looking for a cheaper option, their Ultrafast M100 Fibre package is just £24 a month for a decent 108 Mbps average download speed – this is faster than other similar-priced packages.
Plusnet
If download speeds don’t bother you and you just want the most reasonably priced option, we recommend Plusnet. Their Unlimited Broadband package has a low cost of just £18.99 a month for a 12-month contract. The average download speed is 10 Mbps which is adequate for casual browsing and a small number of devices.
EE
Consider switching to EE for more affordable ultrafast speeds when compared to Virgin Media. Their MAX 900 package comes at a monthly cost of £60, offering, as the name suggests, 900 Mbps. This is faster and more affordable than both Virgin Media and BT’s fastest options (apart from Gig1).
But they can also compete with cheaper options with their Fibre Broadband Only package at an affordable £25 a month for a 36 Mbps average download speed.
Do your research
Be sure to do plenty of research when moving homes and considering your broadband deal.
- Which is the most reliable in the new area?
- Who has good deals when it comes to the speed you realistically need?
- Will your provider offer you a deal to stay with them, or can a new provider be more cost-effective with low set-up fees and new customer deals?
With broadband providers, they will ensure your house move stays as stress-free as possible.
